Very "tasty" podcast. In many senses. Thank you Josephine Burton and DASH ARTS for it. And I am so much looking forwards to our common work. I know now, what we will cook together, when we will meet for rehearsals offline.

DASH ARTS :

This episode threads together Ukrainian culture and history with memory, politics and the female perspective. We look at what we can learn about a country through the eyes of women; through their stories, songs and food.

Cook borsch with Artistic Director Josephine Burton and chef Olia Hercules, discover Ukrainian history and politics with prolific writer Oksana Zabushko, get some insight from the outgoing director of the Ukrainian Institute, London Marina Pesenti and listen to the music and stories of musician Mariana Sadovska.

Thank you, Jarry Singla, Christina Fuchs and Ramesh Shotham for inviting me!

In the new project "Voices" the encounter with different musical cultures will also serve as an "inspirational soil". The artists participating in the SONIQ projects take on the role of travellers who are inspired by a foreign cultural environment to take independent artistic action - but not the role of tourists who scratch the surface of another culture in order to retreat back into their proven cultural environment after a series of exotic kicks.

For "Voices" SONIQ could win the avant-garde singer Mariana Sadovska, rooted in the Ukrainian tradition, the Moroccan singer and multi-instrumentalist Majid Bekkas as well as the Indian vocalist Sandhya Sanjana.

Proud to be able to be part of this  book about Voice and Singing.
Now only in German, but, who knows? One day, one day….?

I am very exited to be able to accompany this incredible film by O. Dovzenko. More I am „diving in“ - more details I see, more  hidden sense I discover. It is a bit, like to look at there river- always changing, whispering you about the mystery of life.
